Landscape Lighting in Klein, TX

Custom landscape lighting design, installation, repair and LED upgrades for homes in Klein, TX, from Spring Landscape Lighting.

Klein has some of the most established neighborhoods in the Spring area. Many homes sit on lots with mature trees, settled landscaping and, quite often, a landscape lighting system that was installed years ago and has not been touched since. Spring Landscape Lighting works with Klein homeowners on both sides of that story: designing new systems for homes that have never been lit, and bringing tired halogen installations back to life with modern LED.

Mature trees, settled landscapes

Time has been kind to many Klein properties. Live oaks, pines and magnolias planted decades ago now frame houses and arch over driveways. These trees are the best lighting opportunity on the lot. A couple of well-placed uplights on a large oak, or moonlighting fixtures mounted high in the canopy, can do more for the property at night than a dozen lights along the foundation. See how we approach this on our tree and garden lighting page.

Mature landscapes also bring challenges. Root zones are extensive, beds are dense, and older irrigation lines run everywhere. Installation needs care: hand digging near roots, routing wire around existing systems, and placing fixtures where established shrubs will not swallow them.

Older halogen systems ripe for an upgrade

If your home has landscape lighting that came with the house, there is a good chance it uses halogen lamps. Typical signs include yellowish light, fixtures that are noticeably dimmer than others, frequent bulb replacements and heavy, hot lamps. Halogen lamps commonly draw 20 to 50 watts each, while comparable LED fixtures usually draw 2 to 12 watts.

Lights hidden by overgrown shrubsRelocate and re-aim, or redesign the layout

An upgrade is also a chance to fix design problems: glare from old floodlights, lights aimed into windows, or a runway of path lights along the front walk. Our repair and upgrade service covers everything from targeted fixes to a full redesign, and adding smart lighting controls at the same time is often worthwhile.

Tip: Curious what an LED conversion would save? Plug in your fixture count and wattage in our halogen to LED savings calculator.

Frequently asked questions

Can you reuse my existing landscape lighting wire?

Sometimes. If the wire is in good condition and properly sized, it can often be reused with new LED fixtures, which typically reduces load. Damaged, undersized or poorly spliced wire is better replaced.

Is it worth upgrading an old halogen system or starting over?

It depends on the layout. If fixture positions still make sense, converting to LED and fixing connections may be enough. If the design has glare, dark gaps or has been outgrown by the landscape, a redesign often gives a better result.

Will installing lighting damage my mature trees?

Not when done carefully. We hand dig near major roots, avoid trenching through root zones where possible and use proper tree-mount hardware for any in-tree fixtures.

How much can an LED upgrade save?

LED typically uses roughly 75 to 85 percent less energy than halogen for similar effect, and lamps last far longer. Actual savings depend on your fixture count, wattage, hours and electricity rate.
